Position Overview
Haystack is hiring its first Go-to-Market Associate to help build a repeatable sales engine alongside our founders. You will own outbound prospecting, qualify new opportunities, and set up the right conversations with the right buyers. As you grow your offering knowledge and confidence in the sales process, you will take on greater ownership of the full sales cycle. You will receive structured onboarding and ongoing coaching from our founders and our sales coaching partner, Stompbox.
Location
This role is hybrid and based in either Indianapolis, IN or Phoenix, AZ. Periodic in-person collaboration with the founders is expected.
Key Responsibilities
Build and work a targeted list of outbound prospects, primarily mid-market companies that are a strong fit for custom software.
Execute consistent outreach across phone, email, LinkedIn and/or other creative channels to generate new conversations.
Lead initial discovery calls to understand buyer needs and assess fit.
Hand off qualified opportunities to our founders, with clear context on what was uncovered.
Maintain organized CRM records and contribute to improving our outbound plays over time.
Represent Haystack at select industry events and networking opportunities.
Requirements
1-3+ years in a sales, business development, or customer-facing role.
Based in or able to work from ( )
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable initiating and leading conversations with new prospects.
Self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Eager to learn consultative selling in a services environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling services or custom solutions rather than off-the-shelf products.
Prior outbound sales experience, including generating your own pipeline.
Familiarity with CRM tools and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
Experience at a small or early-stage company.
Formal training in consultative or solution-based selling.
Compensation & Growth
Base salary of $65,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience.
On-target earnings of $100,000-$120,000, with uncapped commission tied to activity and results.
Structured onboarding and regular coaching from our founders and sales partner.
Clear path to greater ownership of the sales cycle as you develop mastery of our services and buyers.
